“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.” -― J.D. Salinger
J.D. Salinger is the author of a famous novel, Catcher in the Rye. He understood the true connection between a character and a reader. He knows that when a reader finishes a good book, they want to have a conversation with the author. But what causes this impulsive talking? One only receives this impulse if they have a particular connection to the main character. But how is this connection formed? In order to form this connection the author must accurately depict the readers of that time period. Many authors write for teenagers of their time period. But is the depiction accurate?
